AllScale and Primus Complete Confidential Stablecoin Payroll Validation

Our initial validation tested encrypted salary amounts, on-chain settlement records, and employee-authorized viewing in a four-payment payroll run on BNB Chain.

On Sep 1, 2026, we completed the first technical validation of AllScale Private Payroll on BNB Chain with Primus. The collaboration combines our self-custodial stablecoin payroll workflow with FHETransform, Primus’s privacy infrastructure built on fully homomorphic encryption (FHE).

The validation used four fictional employees and sample salary amounts. All four payments were recorded on-chain, while the salary figures remained encrypted. The decrypted salary amounts and balances matched the test payroll file.

Why confidential payroll matters

Public blockchains make transaction data easy to verify, but that transparency creates a problem for payroll. A conventional stablecoin payment can reveal the sender, recipient, time, and amount to anyone examining the chain. When the payment is a salary, the same record may expose compensation, bonuses, and pay differences across a team.

Companies still need reliable settlement records for reconciliation and review. Private Payroll is designed to separate those requirements: the payment record remains on-chain, while the salary amount is encrypted.

How the validation works

We provide the application and workflow layer used to prepare the payroll batch, initiate settlement, and reconcile the resulting on-chain records. Primus provides FHETransform, which encrypts each salary amount before the data is submitted to the smart contract. In the self-custodial workflow, the employer retains control of its wallet and authorizes the payment process.

On the employee side, each recipient can use their wallet to sign a message and view their own salary details. Viewing the details does not require the employee to submit an on-chain transaction, so that step does not incur gas for the employee.

The initial run tested the full flow with sample data: preparing a payroll batch, encrypting individual amounts, processing batch stablecoin payouts, recording settlement on BNB Chain, and confirming that authorized users could view the correct figures.

Private Payroll encrypts salary amounts, not payment relationships. An external observer can still see the company wallet, recipient wallet addresses, timestamps, transaction count, and transaction hashes.

The public record can help confirm that settlement occurred and identify the relevant on-chain addresses and timestamps. It does not, by itself, prove that a salary amount was correct, that a wallet belongs to a particular employee, or that the employer has met its tax, employment, or other compliance obligations. Amount-level verification requires the appropriate authorization or proof mechanism.

Validation results and next steps

The four-payment run completed successfully on BNB Chain, and the decrypted results matched the amounts in the test payroll file. We also included a public-observer view so users can compare the information visible on-chain with the fields protected by encryption.

Together, we will continue testing authorization controls, exception handling, integration with existing payroll processes, and other production-readiness requirements.
